The concept of this project is based on “the fun theory” pioneered by Volkswagen, the thought that something as simple as fun is the easiest way to change people’s behavior for the better.Recycling in Cyprus is rapidly increasing in popularity, yet awareness for certain objects have room for improvement. This effort is focusing on battery recycling and grabbing the attention of the youngsters in our society. The concept developed by Appios&Metaxas and implemented by ARMES, represents a great innovation certain to produce a huge impact on the targeted population. It combines art, technology, interactivity in a sturdy “absolute fun” installation.
Recycle your batteries and compose your own music. The "Magic Flute" is an interactive solution that makes battery recycling more fun, throw the batteries in the magic flute and compose and listen your own music. The "Magic Flute" invites people to recycle their batteries by throwing batteries into the holes of the flute. Each hole corresponds to one musical note, the user puts the batteries into the flute based on the melody he wants to compose, when he finished or run out of batteries he can playback the composed music.
